WHO WE ARE
Alan Welsford, with more than 35 year’s experience in the machine-building industry, has overseen the building of more 4800 machines. He started an industrial electronics business in 1980 which soon took over Acepak, where he was the technical director until 2013 when he was bought out. He is now heading up Uni-Cam SA where he has used his experience to make the company a serious contender in the industrial CNC market.
Jean-Marc Duquenoy, General Manager. He has a contagious 'can-do' personality and is driven to succeed. He is a great motivator of our Unicam team as well as a great negotiator and salesperson. He lives his belief that a happy employee is one of the greatest assets a Company can have, as he makes them into true Brand Ambassadors. He has been instrumental in bringing International brands like Jameson’s Whiskey into Southern Africa.
Glen St. Joseph, originally a CNC operator, he has worked his way up at Unicam SA over the last 15 years and is now a Director. He prefers working with Hardwoods, Aluminium, and Carbon Fibre and doesn’t stop pushing the envelope when it comes to unusual items – from rifle stocks, moulds for electric cars (South Africa’s first electric car moulds was one of his pet projects, always goes on about it…) right down to guitar bodies and cladding for buildings
Cathy Hill, heads up Uni-Cam SA's financial side. She provides strong financial, business strategy and leadership. She has worked at corporate companies like Yardley of London and Polo Clothing. She also successfully runs her own accounting practice that has over 19 years experience. Her strong tax knowledge and financial management skills are a great asset to Uni-Cam SA.
Vernon Spangenberg, a contagious "Customer comes first" attitude and an extremely helpful disposition to all things CNC. He has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to our products and in particular Onsrud CNC cutters. Vernon embodies the values of Unicam.
Marcel Van Der Ende, our Enterprising Factory Manager, who really knows and enjoys what he does. He has years of CNC experience in a production environment, as well as outstanding production management skills. A new and valued member to Unicam SA.
Wilfred Thorne, More than just a wireman, he runs the electrical department with his eyes closed. He is also responsible for setting up new machines and involved with much of our retrofitting of almost any CNC machines or refurbishments. He is an important cog in the Unicam machine.
Axolile Ngcayi, the smile says it all, this is the man behind our CNC cutting department that holds everything together. A keen learner of all things CNC with a strong desire to qualify as a CNC operator. We expect him to be fully qualified this year. He is also responsible for the Jotun finish our CNC machines are renowned for.
Emmett Groenewald, is the rock that Unicam leans on when the sea is restless. Our parts magician who can conjure up any part we need for clients machines. When we get stuck with a tricky problem, he is the one who tirelessly works into the night turning our concepts into reality and solutions.
Samantha St Joseph, has recently joined our team. Efficient and highly organised, she is assisting the Unicam team in more ways than one can count. Friendly, engaging and always willing to assist. A true 'keeper'. Where has she been all this time?
